A nice day, perfect weather. We left the shelter around 8AM and climbed Bear Fence Mountain where we got a few nice views. All morning my stomach was acting up slightly. Had me a bit concerned. We got to the Big Meadows Wayside and had a big lunch. I definitely still have my appetite, so it can't be too bad. We also bought a few groceries and visited the visitor center. Good slide show.

We went back to the trail and got as far as the campground and quit. I felt tired and Rick and I both felt lazy, so we decided to spend the night there and forget the post office in Chester Gap. Took showers this afternoon and sat just sat around. We met a young couple from Rhode Island across the road from our campsite. Also a hiker from Virginia in a site next to us. Joined the couple tonight for tea and honey. Good.
