We had coffee and toast with Mary Finley and the TV this morning, then talked with her for a while. Went rushing to catch the 11:10 bus to Roanoke, which didn't arrive until 11:45, of course. Rushed to the Post Office first. Had a hot ride to Roanoke and then called a taxi to get to Cloverdale. It was super hot today and I was kind of depressed.
We started hiking around 5PM after a stop at the Post Office in Cloverdale. Shortly after we started it began raining. Thunderstorm. Got soaked, but man, did it feel nice. Such a relief after all the heat. I was sure glad to get hiking again, too. Felt a whole lot better.
